** Unexpectedly back on the market at an even greater reduced price! **
A 1946 wooden converted motor fishing vessel, with real, tangible history behind her - registered and certified as a National Historic Ship. She was built in 1946 by the Banff Boatbuilding Company and named after the Lord of Banffshire.
I'm informed that she was utilised in the commercial herring fishing industry and helped to pioneer Scottish herring fishing after the end of the second world war. No smell of fish! In 1989 she was bought by a Bristol consortium and converted to a motor fishing vessel yacht.
She is already a comfortable and peaceful home and would benefit from some work, which is reflected in the already-low asking price.
Unusual for a house boat, the owner tells me her original Gardener diesel engine is reported as operational and that she was recently used as a pleasure boat in Majorca for 8 years, so she comes with some commercial repair and service history.
Also according to her current owner, her hull design was the prototype for Scottish fishing boats after the 2nd world war. She was re-caulked under the waterline in September 2014 and her last survey was carried out in September, 2013.
Part 1 Registered.
Only for sale due to a change in professional commitments and priced to sell quickly. Grab her while you can!
