Beam of 15'8" is measured to outsides of rub rails. Hull is cored construction with closed cell foam. Keel has 2700 LBS of lead ballast encapsulated in fiberglass. Constructed from 1977 to 1998 there were 203 hulls built in several different Taiwan yards. Until the mid 1980s, decks were ¾-inch plywood supported on mahogany beams, with two layers of fiberglass and ½-inch teak planking on top. The Krogen 42’s ballasted displacement hull was designed to resist rolling and is self-righting at more than 85 degrees.

Starting in the forepeak there is a head with shower, entering into the master with large double berth somewhat Pullman style on the starboard side. A vanity with mirror and lots of drawers is on the port side. There are also lots of drawers under the bed. Further aft is a two bunk cabin to port and a second head to starboard. Then up to the salon and galley level the galley is quite large to starboard. Side by side SubZero refrigerator and freezer with ice maker complement an electric range with oven, deep double basin sink with new faucet plus a microwave. Pretty much just like home. Spacious salon cabin with "L" shape seating around a nice teak table on the starboard plus a good-sized settee on port. There is also a bar-style ice maker under the cabinet next to the port settee. Teak parquet floors are in outstanding condition as is all the woodwork inside. Sliding windows provide lots of ventilation plus the aft companionway doors are double size and open to an enclosed cockpit. Loads of room for entertaining. Covered walkarounds and protected cockpit make for lots of outdoor living space. The pilothouse is entered from the port side of the galley up a couple steps to a very roomy and efficient ship's command center. Access doors on both sides plus a huge leather couch style seating area make this the place to be underway. Everywhere you look inside it's warm, clean and brightly lit.

Commentaires du Broker
The Kadey-Krogen 42 Pilothouse Trawler is regarded as the quintessential trawler. Classic styling, functional design and long-range cruising comfort make the Krogen a much-sought-after vessel. In a quote from Susan Canfield writing in Chesapeake Bay Magazine: "Her construction is rugged. With literally hundreds of storage lockers and drawers, a Krogen 42 can swallow 5,000 pounds of stuff without indigestion. She can then carry it, and her owners, thousands of miles in the comfort of their own home. There’s little wonder resale values have been consistently strong". This particular boat has been lovingly maintained, boathouse-kept and has adventured to Alaska 10 times with her current owners. She's ready to go again with no deferred maintenance to contend with.
